My name is Veronica Oh Happy (and the joke is that it’s not a joke).  My name comes from the late 70s/early 80s hippie era, when my parents moved from Los Angeles to a small mountain town in Eastern WA, got married, and made it up.

The real trick about my last name, though, is that if I’m not consistently choosing to be happy, grateful, and positive, I am seriously fucking up.  I mean, it’s my NAME.  I have to.

In line with having a made-up, ridiculous last name, I live a pretty charmed life.  I’m lucky enough to be given about a thousand and two chances to practice what I preach on a daily basis, from the time my alarm goes off at 4:30am to the time another alarm goes off at 9pm, reminding me to get my ass in bed so I can do it all over again.

And that’s just it – this stuff is a practice.  I constantly tweak my approaches, because there’s always a better way.  I am forever working toward new goals, and I’ve become an expert in resistance because I have had to deal with it throughout my entire life.

I’m lucky enough to have built a life that allows me to glut myself on information on a daily basis.  That inherent privilege is why I’m constantly adding to my ‘Tools’ page on this site.  Not everyone can devote a few thousand hours to learning every year.  I feel indebted to the scientists and tinkerers who have come before me and put all of this information into the world, so I choose to pay it forward by compiling it all here.

In addition to all of that, I’m a tinkerer, artist, writer, mom, and huge nerd.  I make my home near Seattle, WA, with my munchkin and our ‘pet’ hummingbirds.
